What is OpenID and how can I use it to log into my web site?

General

OpenID is an open, decentralized standard for user authentication and access control, allowing users to log onto many services with the same digital identity. As such, it replaces the common login process that uses a login-name and a password, by allowing a user to log in once and gain access to the resources of multiple software systems.

You can create an OpenID account at a number of registrars free of charge and then use it to log into systems that support it. An example login of an OpenID account is as follows:

http://openid.yourDomain.com/yourName

You can set up an OpenID account at a registrar such as: http://www.myopenid.com

Once created, you can log into Campusuite and set your OpenID account and then begin logging into the site with it.
